Camp Knife – The 5 Most Common

Having the right camp knife can make a world of difference. My camp knife has evolved a lot over time. Here are the most common knives I have used in the order I have bought and used on a regular basis. I would highly recommend any of these knives.  Each one serves a very different purpose but all are a great all around option.

  1. The Ka-Bar Becker BK2 – this was a great knife for starting out. It is a tank of a knife and you there is never any worries of breaking it. However, for the weight, it made more sense to me to carry a bigger knife that could do more.
  2. Ka-Bar Becker BK9 – I love this knife and still use it today. It has a big blade for batoning and chopping branches yet it can still feather sticks and do the smaller task as well.
  3. Tops BOB – I wanted a regular Bushcraft style knife to carry that was lighter yet still robust enough to not worry about it breaking. This was an ok knife but I quickly upgrade to something way lighter and much more affordable.
  4. Mora Companion – This seems to be everyone’s favorite budget blade and for the money, I figured I would give it a try. I love this knife so much so I bought the Mora Bushcraft Black which is a little more money but has more features than the standard companion.
  5. Lt. Wright Larry Roberts Signature addition Genisis – Today if I am not caring a Mora I have my very expensive custom made Genisis with Larry Roberts Signature mouse on the blade This is by far my favorite knife I own. It has everything you would want or need in a bushcraft style knife. I am very happy with this knife and it will take truly something special to take the place of this beautiful blade.
