Winter Camping In Negative 20 Degree Weather

Sleeping in negative 20 degree weather isn’t easy but it sure is fun. In this video, I give an update on my winter camping tent set up. I was very comfortable and I am excited to test out more gear this winter season!!!

  1. Good to see Outdoor Vitals in the field. They are serving a price point that made most of this gear level of gear out of reach for many people.

    • This is a really great tent for the money. You can find my tent review on their website or my YouTube Channel I did make some changes on the stuff sack and the stakes that came with it.

  2. Awesome job! A pillow goes a long way for comfort! I do own a MSS and I do use it with the compression bag but it does weigh about ten pounds.so I’m always looking for a lighter option.Love your German Shepherd! I have an all black male and he’s the best dog I’ve ever had!

    • Yeah, I am always in the market for a sleeping bag too but there are so many options and when you ask anyone they say get an MMSS lol. My dog Mora is almost 6 months old and really is a great dog. I can’t wait for the spring when I can take her camping with me. It should be a ton of fun!!!

  3. Hey chief I replied about pillows and I wanted to share an awesome piece of gear from Jayberry @ Tuff Possum gear. He makes pouches and haversacks & packs but he makes a Survival scarf (Mors K. Inspired) that I own and absolutely love! It’s 100%U.S.A handmade with 100%U.S materials. It’s a large scarf that has one end sewed together and it’s OD green and the inside is bright orange so it can be used as a signal panel. But it makes an awesome pillow by filling it up with some dry leaves or what I’ve also done , filling it with an extra shirt from my pack. So many uses from tinder pouch, dry mat to whatever you can imagine it’s awesome. Just thought I’d share that!

    • Is it fleece or wool??? It would be really cool if I could find a wool buff that I could use to wear around my face when I sleep that will wick the moister from my breath away from me. I will have to get ahold of him and see what he can do. Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge I really appreciate it!!!

  4. I like that THN sleeping pad it seems to be something i could use i probably will buy one myself when i can afford it.

  5. Nice gear douchen you have any expierience with a bivI or a bear Gryls Ultimate knive

    • I do have the Bear Grylls knife the first one they made and I don’t really care for it all that much. The handle is cracked by the pommel so I don’t think it will hold up to much of anything. I think it is cool looking but I wouldn’t use it as a regular camp knife. I do hear that the pro version is much better but I don’t plan on ever buying one.

    • It feels just like the sheets on my bed at home so it adds a comfort value but more importantly, it helps keep the inside of my sleeping bag clean. All the mess from being outside is inside the liner. The liner is way easier to wash then the sleeping bag itself. They say that the liner adds warmth but I have noticed a difference with or without the liner, in my opinion, it is the same warmth-wise without one.
